ERRANDLY — ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules, standards, and responsibilities that govern how users interact with Errandly. By using Errandly's platform, services, website, applications, and communication channels (collectively, "Errandly"), all users—including customers, errand runners ("Runners"), merchants, and partners—agree to abide by this AUP.
Errandly exists to enable safe, fair, and efficient movement of errands across communities. Every member of our ecosystem shares responsibility in upholding these standards.
1. GENERAL PRINCIPLES
1.1 Safety First:
Users must not engage in any activity that threatens the safety, wellbeing, or rights of others.
1.2 Lawful Use:
Errandly may only be used for errands that comply with Nigerian law, regional laws, and all applicable regulations.
1.3 Respect for Others:
Users must treat fellow community members—Runners, customers, admins, and partners—with dignity, fairness, and respect at all times.
1.4 Authenticity and Truthfulness:
All information provided on Errandly (identity, pick-up location, item details, delivery destination, etc.) must be accurate and not misleading.
1.5 Platform Integrity:
Users must not attempt to misuse, exploit, or bypass any part of Errandly's systems or operational structure.
2. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
The following activities are strictly prohibited on Errandly. Violation may result in suspension, bans, or legal action.
2.1 Illegal, Restricted, or Dangerous Goods
Users must NOT request or transport items including but not limited to:
- Weapons, ammunition, or explosives.
- Illegal drugs or controlled substances.
- Cash, currency, bearer bonds, or negotiable instruments of any kind.
- Stolen goods.
- Hazardous materials (flammables, corrosives, radioactive items).
- Human or animal remains.
- Counterfeit items.
- Pornographic or sexually explicit materials.
- Alcohol or tobacco products aimed for delivery to persons under the legal age.
- Anything prohibited under Nigerian law or local regulations.
Note on High-Value Items: Errandly is not liable for the transport of jewelry, precious stones, electronics, or items valued over 100,000 Naira unless explicitly declared and insured separately by the Customer.
2.2 Abuse, Harassment & Harmful Behavior
Users may not:
- Threaten, harass, insult, or intimidate others.
- Engage in discriminatory behavior (race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, or other protected classes).
- Use abusive or violent language.
- Attempt to manipulate, blackmail, or extort Runners or customers.
- Create unwanted physical contact or attempt to meet outside the context of an errand.
2.3 Fraudulent or Deceptive Use
Users may not:
- Create fake accounts.
- Provide false pickup/dropoff addresses.
- Misrepresent the contents or value of their items.
- Refuse payment after service is rendered.
- Submit fake transfer receipts or initiate fraudulent chargebacks.
- Manipulate ratings, reviews, or dispatch systems.
2.4 Operational Interference
Users shall not:
- Attempt to disrupt Errandly's service or systems.
- Interfere with Runners assigned to other tasks.
- Impersonate an Errandly representative or staff member.
- Use unauthorized tools, bots, or scripts.
- Violate WhatsApp group rules or attempt to derail internal communication channels.
2.5 Off-Platform Contracting & Circumvention
- Strict Prohibition: Users must not use Errandly's communication channels (including WhatsApp groups) to solicit Runners or Customers for jobs outside of the Errandly platform to avoid fees.
- Taking a relationship established on Errandly off-platform deprives the user of safety protections and is grounds for an immediate permanent ban.
3. RESPONSIBILITIES OF USERS
3.1 Responsibilities of Customers
Customers must:
- Provide clear, accurate errand details.
- Securely Package Items: Ensure items are packaged to withstand transport. Errandly is not liable for damage caused by poor packaging.
- Ensure items are lawful and safe.
- Pay agreed fees promptly.
- Be Available: Be available for communication during the errand.
- Unsuccessful Delivery: If the Customer or Recipient is unavailable after a 10-minute waiting period, the item may be returned to the pickup location at the Customer's full expense. Errandly is not responsible for items left unattended at the Customer's request.
3.2 Responsibilities of Runners
Runners must:
- Safely and promptly complete the assigned errands.
- Treat customers with respect.
- Verification: Runners have the right to inspect the exterior packaging and request the Customer to open unsealed items to verify contents against the description. Runners must never open sealed parcels themselves.
- Right to Refuse: Runners reserve the right to decline an errand without penalty if they arrive at a location and deem it unsafe, unlit, or if the item differs significantly from the description.
- Not subcontract errands to third parties.
- Follow all traffic rules, safety laws, and courier standards.
- Keep customer information confidential.
4. SAFETY & SECURITY REQUIREMENTS
4.1 Verification:
Users agree to any verification measures Errandly implements (ID verification, phone verification, KYC, etc.).
4.2 No Violence or Threats:
Violence or threats of violence are grounds for immediate removal and referral to authorities.
4.3 Safe Conduct:
Runners must not endanger themselves or others. Customers must not request errands that require unsafe behavior.
4.4 Suspicious Items:
Runners may refuse suspicious or improperly disclosed items.
4.5 Privacy Protection:
Users may not use Errandly to collect personal data from others without consent.
5. PAYMENT & FINANCIAL INTEGRITY
5.1 No Payment Circumvention:
All payments must go through approved Errandly channels.
5.2 Fair Compensation:
Customers must not underpay or refuse payment once an errand is completed. Submission of fake payment proofs is a criminal offense.
5.3 No Bribery or Kickbacks:
Users must not engage in bribery or offer illegal incentives.
6. ACCOUNT SECURITY
Users are responsible for:
- Keeping login credentials secure.
- Reporting suspicious account activity immediately.
- Not sharing accounts with others.
Errandly is not responsible for losses due to compromised accounts.
7. DATA USAGE & COMMUNICATION
7.1 Appropriate Communication:
Users may only contact others for legitimate errand-related reasons.
7.2 No Spam or Marketing:
Errandly channels may not be used for spam, unsolicited offers, or unrelated advertisements.
7.3 Confidentiality & NDPR:
Users must protect sensitive information shared during errands. Data usage is further governed by Errandly's Privacy Policy.
8. CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLATIONS
Errandly may take one or more of the following actions:
- Warning.
- Temporary suspension.
- Permanent account ban.
- Removal from WhatsApp groups or communication channels.
- Reporting to law enforcement.
- Legal action for damages.
Errandly reserves the right to determine the appropriate corrective action.
9. AMENDMENTS
Errandly may update this AUP at any time to reflect evolving safety requirements, higher user volume, operational changes, or legal obligations. Users will be notified of significant changes.
10. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By using Errandly, users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Acceptable Use Policy.
